Lucia Romo is the President of the Be a Teacher Club and Associate Dean of Community Engagement of DAIR to Teach. The best part? She graduates in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Urban Education for Early Childhood through Grade Six with Bilingual Supplement.

With more than 67,000 alumni, the University of Houston-Downtown has a lot to be proud of! For its 50th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Hilton Americas-Houston, the university will honor six of those alums with very special awards.
