  1. Is New Student Orientation required?
    Incoming transfer students are highly encouraged to attend a New Student Orientation session before their initial semester of enrollment at UHD.

  2. Why is it beneficial to attend New Student Orientation?
    The purpose of New Student Orientation is to provide you with a smooth transition as you finalize your enrollment steps and become acclimated to campus. New Student Orientation is an interactive, on-campus event designed to give you an inside track into what it means to be a UHD student. You are highly encouraged to attend New Student Orientation so you can receive the information you need to be successful at UHD.

  3. How do I register for New Student Orientation?

    To register for New Student Orientation, please follow the steps below:
    1. Log in to myUHD or by visiting myuhd.uhd.edu
    2. Select the orientation tile
    3. Click on Transfer Student Orientation
    4. Choose a New Student Orientation session and complete the registration form

  4. What do I need to do prior to attending New Student Orientation?
    You can view a complete list of your next steps online at uhd.edu/gatorway. Select "Transfer" in the left column.

  5. What if I need special accommodations?
    Accommodations are available for students with disabilities. Please use the Questions and Accommodations section of the New Student Orientation registration form.

  6. How do I reschedule my New Student Orientation session?
    Please refer to your appointment confirmation email or contact us at orientation@uhd.edu to reschedule your session. Be sure to include your full name and Student ID number (7-digit).

  7. What do I need to know about transfer credit?
    Transfer credit will be evaluated before your New Student Orientation session date. You will be eligible to register for classes at the session based on your transfer credit.

  8. When will I be able to be Advised?
    Advising teams are reaching out to schedule advising appointments. Continue to monitor your official UHD email account, GatorMail, for more information. You will have an opportunity to connect with an advisor and register at orientation as well. Your advising session will take place immediately after the planned lunch.
