Organization Description
Houston Energy Insider (HEI) is a one-stop shop for all things energy-related in the local and global energy markets. HEI publishes and shares energy trends, updates and analysis from top industry insiders. The goal of HEI is to effectively communicate what's happening in and around Houston's, and the world's energy industry. 

Coverage includes upstream, midstream, downstream, gas exploration, trading activities, various energy (alternative).

Description of Internship
HEI is looking for content writers to create articles for our website. We are interested in writers who can rewrite original articles on energy-related topics but in their own words. The articles could range from 150-500+ words of content depending on the original piece (average rewrite is about 450 words or less). The rewritten articles must be completed within 24-48 hours of approval and proof read so that it contains little to no grammatical errors. Additionally, we would like for you to complete at least two rewrites minimum per week. We prefer that you have some understanding or common knowledge about the oil and gas industry. This internship is perfect for undergraduate or graduate students who major in professional writing or business. 

Internship Duties
Job duties include but are not limited to: 

• Write daily articles that cover the local and global energy markets 
• Work with editors to ensure work is ready for publishing 
• Conduct research to help create engaging content for our audience 
• Coordinate social media marketing posts via LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. 
• Respond to post comments when appropriate on behalf of the organization

Criteria for Interns
Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher and enjoy writing.

Internship Work Hours and Semester
10-20 hours per week
