Class of 2030, make plans to attend one of UHD's most beloved traditions...New Student Convocation! The celebratory event on August 15 at the university's Wellness & Success Center invites new students, staff, faculty, current students, and special guests to formally welcome new Gators to the congregation.
First up, alum Magge Nuñez, known as DJ Rosez, kicks off the event with live music from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at a Student Organizations Fair. From professional student organizations like the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA UHD) to interest-based clubs like Creative Writing Club or Drama Interest Club, there are student organizations for just about everyone. Next, enjoy a formal ceremony featuring UHD leadership and keynote speaker, Jennifer Borrero. Borrero, a non-profit founder and global speaker, will deliver an address titled, "Pressure of a Dream." Then, hear from Kemberley Osorto, President of Undergraduate Student Government Association.
At noon, you'll have a chance to meet with your academic college and enjoy a delicious lunch with fellow Gators. After, you'll have an opportunity to tour your new "home" and locate your classes before the first day of the fall semester on Monday, Aug. 17.
