Event Speaker: Emily Martinez
Emily Martinez serves as a Bilingual Education Specialist at Crime Stoppers of Houston, where she delivers crime prevention and safety education programs in both English and Spanish to schools, families, and communities. She officially joined the organization in July 2025, following earlier volunteer work supporting youth initiatives and translating key criminal justice terminology for the Glenda Gordy Research Center. Emily earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown, where she was named the 2025 Criminal Justice Student of the Year. While completing her degree, she held leadership roles across campus and interned with both the Houston Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit, gaining direct insight into public safety and community relations. Emily is deeply passionate about public education, youth engagement, and crime prevention. Her work reflects a strong commitment to making safety resources accessible, inclusive, and impactful across the communities she serves.
